harvest haus : playroom sitch

the internet sucks sometimes. it’s a never-ending “buy this” or “look what i have” & i don’t want to add to thee discontentment that slowly eats away at anyone. i am posting this solely for anyone looking for creative inspiration when it comes to their childs playspace.

this is honestly more than i would like in a space, but there’s limited space in our home & it’s where we’re at. i will slowly pay attention to what is being played with, and slowly give away or donate the toys that aren’t being used.

my goal with Rehn(and any future kids)is to promote creative, and educational play. less is more - but when you have people you love, that love your kid, it’s hard to keep things minimal all the time. i will say that creating an intentional “gift list” for your children is pivotal and makes things so much easier come holidays/birthdays! it’s OKAY to be intentional and picky. don’t ever feel bad about that!

okay! now for what you came for :)

links at the bottom & a video version here in case you’re more visual!

i like to keep blocks of any kind available where Rehn plays! she loves them, but for development and independent play open-ended toys like blocks are so so good for them to have access to!

she has been really into dolls lately, so we got her this stroller & she has a little bassinet that she plays with so much!

my dad is a beautiful woodworker/craftsman & made this cloud car track , and i think it’s the coolest. we have so many of his creations which is so so special.

speaking of my dads beautiful things - he made me this toy chest & i just wanted to highlight it because i’m so proud of him & so thankful for the lifelong treasures we’ll have made by “papa”.

i love finding new-old toys for rehn to play with. it’s a way of showing her that “new” isn’t better, but everything we are given, especially if it’s given with intention, is beautiful and meaningful. i love being able to share how these things were loved on before her, especially as she notices scratches or things we have to fix when we bring it home. i just love it.

we also love the lovevery boxes, so you’ll see a variety of those toys around. etsy is also another big platform i choose to shop from before anything else!

and of course, the ikea kitchen! i have a whole blog post & video on the diy we did on this thing & we just now added the microwave section back , so there’s little changes to that i will make eventually but if you’re looking for how i got it from the original to this, i have those linked for you!

and here’s a quick section i have on our main level for you to look at too! keep it simple down there(i had more down there than i do now, but it’s nice to see if you don’t have a lot of space, and need ideas to make the most of the space you do have)and pretty intentional too!

heres the link to my amazon storefront for you to shop the rest of the look! between my “shop” section on my website, my ltk, and my amazon storefront i link everything i can for you guys!!
