instagram

i have this not-so-profound love/hate relationship with instagram — it’s an addicting app & i could probably go very long-winded about specifics to that point, but i think it’s already been talked about enough for us to get the point.

i will say, however, that i’ve been so inspired lately, and a lot of that has to do with who i have been allowing my screen time to. recent finds, and long time viewer to, i decided to compile a list of my most inspirational follows, because i think there’s such beauty in shared experiences. the content between all of these are significantly scattered, but all revolve this atmosphere of slowing down, taking care of yourself, your family, and the planet, and a whole lot of Jesus.

i hope you feel beauty, inspired, encouraged, and seen as you read through some of their thoughts <3 love you guys, and i’ll see you again soon with the next one!

click their names to follow along :)

@hanelaineking - i have followed this sweet soul for probably three years now. the Lord works through her words in such a sweet, poetic way, and my enneagram 4 self finds much rest in her grid. her visionary, motherhood journey and love for God are so authentically captured.

@nikkireed - i love how seasons of life can bring you full circle sometimes. i used to follow her a few years back, but life just looked different for me, and i wasn’t in a place to find value in what she would post on. Nikki Reed was an actress in twilight(rosalie), and she’s married to damon salvatore(where are my VD fans at?!) lol. She is such an inspiration when it comes to slowing down, appreciating the earth, animals, and your own health(mental, physical, spiritual), alongside motherhood things. she has cows, chickens, many dogs and cats, and just loves life and i’m here for all the happy, insightful, and educational things. i think if you’re someone who needs a reminder to enjoy the little things, loves homesteading and loves sustainability, she’d be an awesome one for you to follow!

@ourkinandhome - Mary is another i followed years ago, sorta lost her to the craziness that is social media, and refound her last year. such a happy follow. all things motherhood, raw words, beautiful imagery, and has so many cool ideas for homemaking. i currently love her wander presets! she’s about to move into a home on wheels with her three children, and husband & live on a friends homestead & i cannot wait for all the content she’ll have to share on that. it’s a dream of mine to live on a homestead, so watching others living out that lifestyle has been such a gift and a such a reasurrance of that dream. she’s a kind soul, who lives as slowly as she can, and so honest about all things social media, and motherhood. highly recommend!

@paigegeidel -a new-to-me follow, but genuinely feels like forever! such an easy person to find yourself in conversation with, and such amazing insight on motherhood, working from home, and Jesus. she has a podcast(will speak on this in another blog) that i am obsessed with. every tuesday i find myself in such anticipation for the new episode to drop! such a sweet soul & happy follow, esepcially as a young mama.

@courtney_weston - i found courtney through Hannah King ^^ and instantly found myself drawn to her. another mother who speaks vulnerably, but in such an encouraging way. i was watching her stories last night, and she shared about this idea of learning to navigate kids playtime, and how screentime looks in that situation, and i was floored, motivated, and straight up convicted to change and really pay attention to the way we bring our children up in this world. she is a creative that has inspired me in many ways. she has a shop called “roonyclothing”, where she sells patterns and sort of sheds light on being able to make for yourself and just really encourages me to use my hands so much more. i love following her, and i think you will too.

@marykaterobertson - i never really watched duck dynasty; i think i did when it first came about because it was such a different concept, but i’m not much of a tv person so i sorta fell away from it, but MaryKate is married to John Luke Robertson, and i have loved following along her story for years now. she has a son named John Shephard, and recently had her daughter Ella who is so precious. MaryKate is someone i look forward to seeing content from because she is very spuradic, very mindful of what she posts, and pretty much anything she says comes across as so meaninful and authentic. she posts raw photos of her life and her family. you’d never know she was a part of a famous family by how she lives her life. i know we see the best of the best on social media, but you can tell what she posts, while a highlight reel of her life, comes from a very genuine and real place. i just love everything about her, and i think anyone would benefit from following along. from motherhood, to nontoxic living, to all the things about her relationship with jesus, she beams light in a world that can seem rather grey at times.

while social media is a highlight reel, i enjoy finding real and raw friends to connect with, and follow. it’s relatable, it’s motivating, and it can be healing in a world that gravitates toward false-realities.

while i am a true advocate for balance, and limited screentime, i’m also big on taking advantage of that time and make it valuable. these women offer so much value. that’s why i share. that’s why i listed them out. take care of yourself, first and foremost. thanks again, and i’ll see you again real soon!
